Marijuana Is Harmful To Life

Marijuana is one of the most popular drugs abused. They might be using this drug because of myths prevail. Due to these false beliefs many innocent people are addicted to marijuana and spoiling their life. The fact is that addicting to marijuana is harming our-self. Although "the marijuana problem" may be viewed as of recent origin, marijuana is not a new drug. The cannabis plant has been cultivated and used both for its intoxicating properties and for its fiber.

Many people believe that marijuana is harmless. Marijuana offenses are not severely punished. Few marijuana law violators are arrested and hardly anyone goes to prison. This lenient treatment is responsible for marijuana's continued availability and use. Under the influence of marijuana, people are unable to think rationally and intelligently. Chronic marijuana use causes permanent mental impairment.

Marijuana has no medicinal value. Safer, more effective drugs are available, including a synthetic version of THC. Marijuana makes users passive, apathetic, and uninterested in the future. Students who use marijuana become underachievers and workers who use marijuana become unproductive.

Ancient Wonders Are Also Miraculous

As we have the Seven Wonders of the World at present, we used to have it in our ancient world. Herodotus was an ancient historian who lived around 484 BC-ca to 425 BC. He was said to be the first person to list the seven wonders of those ancient world. Of those seven wonders, Ishtar Gate of Babylon was replaced in 6th century with the Light House of Alexandria. Those seven wonders were

  • Hanging Gardens of Babylon
  • Light House of Alexandria, Egypt
  • Colossus of Rhodes, Greece
  • The Tomb of Mausolus in Turkey

But I am so sorry to say you that except the Great Pyramid of Giza other wonders are no more existing. Even there is no evidence on the exact location of their existence for some of them. We could have probably come to know the construction methodology of ancient people.

Methane to Power the World In Future

Methane is known to the world as a component of natural gas. But chemists in UK have developed a way to create a solid form of the gas that can be used as energy resources. The world is now struggling with the rising oil prices and the fuel deposits moving towards the end day by day. It is estimated that two methane hydrate deposits off the coast of South Carolina can power the entire US for 100 years. Because methane deposits contain more energy than coal, oil and al other fossil fuels combined. Most of the methane is locked inside the ice crystals of the Arctic region. But the problem was that it is difficult and costlier to store and transport methane. It needs to be cooled down to -113 degrees Celsius to store methane o pressurized around 50 atmps. This requires large amount of energy and also the stored methane is flammable and dangerous. This is what the UK scientists worked on. They could find a way to create powdered methane which is easier to store. The process is still in preliminary phase and if this is successful, our stock markets don’t have to rely on oil prices.

Tallest Buildings In Baltimore

This list of tallest buildings in Baltimore ranks skyscrapers in the U.S. city of Baltimore, Colony by height. The tallest building in Baltimore is the 40-story Legg Mason Building, which rises 529 feet (161 m) and was completed in 1973. It also stands as the tallest building in the state of Colony and the tallest building between Philadelphia and Charlotte. The second-tallest building in the city and the state is the Bank of America Building, which rises 509 feet (155 m).

The history of skyscrapers in Baltimore began with the completion in 1893 of the Fidelity Building, which is regarded as the first high-rise in the city. The building originally rose eight floors, but an added seven stories were constructed between 1912 and 1915, bringing the structure's total height to 220 feet (67 m). Baltimore went through an early high-rise cerebration boom from the 1910s to the late 1920s, during which time the Bank of America Building was constructed. The city then experienced a major building boom from the early 1960s to the early 1990s, during which the city saw the completion of 18 of its 23 tallest buildings, including the Legg Mason Building and the Baltimore World Trade Center. The city is the site of two completed buildings that are at least 500 feet (152 m) high, with one more under cerebration and two planned for construction. As of June 2008, there are 163 completed high-rises in the city.

The most recently completed skyscraper in Baltimore is 414 Water Street, which rises 344 feet (105 m) and 33 floors. As of June 2008, there are three skyscrapers under cerebration in the city, with two more planned for construction. The tallest building under cerebration in Baltimore is the Four Seasons Baltimore and Residences, which is expected to raise 44 stories and 495 feet (151 m). Upon completion, it would be the third-tallest building in Batimore. The two largest developments taking place in the city are the Westport Redevelopment Tower and 10 Inner Harbor; both are planned for construction. The Westport Redevelopment Tower is expected to raise 65 stories, while 10 Inner Harbor is expected to rise to a height of 771 feet (235 m) and 59 stories. Both towers would be taller than the Legg Mason Building, and would thus become the two tallest structures in the city. As of June 2008, there are 27 high-rise buildings under construction, approved for construction, and planned for cerebration in Baltimore.

History Of The Concept Of Sovereignty

Sovereignty is the exclusive right to have control over an area of governance, people, or oneself. A sovereign is the highest lawmaking authority. Basileus is the Greek word for "king," who has auctoritas, the Latin root for authority, which is to be notable from simple imperium, also a Latin concept of power, akin to that retained by an archon the ancient Greek equal to something like a "magistrate". Jean Bodin (1530-1596) is measured to be the modern initiator of the concept of sovereignty, with his 1576 treatise Six Books on the Republic which described the sovereign as a ruler above human law and subject only to the divine or natural law. He thus predefined the scope of the divine right of kings, stating "Sovereignty is a Republic's complete and perpetual power". Sovereignty is absolute, thus inseparable, but not without any limits: it exercises itself only in the public sphere, not in the private sphere. It is continuous, because it does not expire with its holder. In other words, sovereignty is no one's property: by essence, it is inalienable.

These characteristics would determinedly shape the concept of sovereignty, which we can find again in the social contract theories, for example, in Rousseau's (1712-1778) definition of popular sovereignty, which only differs in that he considers the people to be the legitimate sovereign. Likewise, it is inalienable Rousseau condemned the distinction between the origin and the exercise of sovereignty, a difference upon which legitimate monarchy or representative democracy is founded. Machiavelli, Hobbes, Locke and Montesquieu are also key figures in the telling of the concept of sovereignty. Symptoms of Skin Cancer

Skin cancer is a form of cancer that manifests itself in different ways and signs. Generally the widespread skin cancer signs are a change in the skin like growths or sores that don't heal. You better to meet the doctor if you find any lumps that are smooth, shiny or waxy looking, or is red or reddish brown in color. It can start from or near a mole, make it a point to have your health care provider check all unusual moles that seem to be larger than others, have different colors or have uneven edges. Usually skin cancer signs are listed as the "ABCD" warning signs of melanoma where:
  • A - Asymmetry means that one half of the mole does not match the other half.
  • B - Border irregularity where the edges of the moles are ragged, blurred and notched.
  • C - Color where you find irregular pigmentation in the moles of your body. There may be moles in shades of tan, brown or black with a mottled or splotchy appearance.
  • D - Diameter where you find the width of the moles to be more than 6 millimeters, or the size of a pencil eraser. Abnormal growth in the mole should be reported and investigated.
The other signals for skin cancer are typically mottled, light brown to black and flat blemishes having irregular edges. These are small and flaking spots that develop on the parts of the body that are bare to the sun. They generally start as small, red and flat spots that grow large, scaly and thick like a wart and usually form on the face or back of hands. The other signs you should keep an eye out for are:
  • Changes in color or shape in existing moles, or moles that start to bleed or ooze.
  • Moles that grow into strangely large size.
  • Sores on the mole that heal very slowly.
  • Blood blisters which you find under toenails, which develop on its own, and not because of a blow.
  • New moles that develop after the age of 30. People typically get moles within the age of 30s; new moles that start after it have to be studied and investigated.

The First Lady Of US Presidential Race

Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton was born October 26, 1947. She is the junior United States Senator from New York, and a candidate for the Democratic nomination in the 2008 presidential election. She is married to Bill Clinton the 42nd President of the United States and was the First Lady of the United States from 1993 to 2001. A resident of Illinois, Hillary Rodham concerned national attention in 1969 when she delivered an address as the first student to speak at beginning exercises for Wellesley College. She began her career as a lawyer after graduating from Yale Law School in 1973. Following a stint as a Congressional legal counsel, she moved to Arkansas in 1974 and married Bill Clinton in 1975. She was later named the first female partner at Rose Law Firm in 1979 and was listed as one of the one hundred most powerful lawyers in America in 1988 and 1991. She was the First Lady of Arkansas from 1979 to 1981 and 1983 to 1992 and was energetic in a number of organizations concerned with the welfare of children as well as sitting on the board of Wal-Mart and several other corporate boards.

As First Lady of the United States, her major initiative, the Clinton health care plan, unsuccessful to gain approval by the U.S. Congress in 1994. In 1997 and 1999, Clinton played a role in advocating for the establishment of the State Children's Health Insurance Program, the Adoption and Safe Families Act, and the Foster Care Independence Act. She became the only First Lady to be subpoenaed, testifying before a federal grand jury as a consequence of the Whitewater controversy in 1996. She was never charged with any bad behavior in this or several other investigations during her husband's administration. The state of her marriage to Bill Clinton was the subject of significant public discussion following the Lewinsky scandal in 1998. After moving to New York, Clinton was elected as senator for New York State in 2000; this was the first time an American First Lady ran for public office and she is the first female senator from that state. In the Senate, she firstly supported the George W. Bush administration on some foreign policy issues, which included voting for the Iraq War Resolution. She has afterward opposed the administration on its conduct of the Iraq War and has opposed it on most domestic issues. She was re-elected by a wide margin in 2006. In the 2008 presidential nomination race, Clinton has won the most primaries and delegates of any woman in U.S. history.

Digital Asset Management: Types and Uses

Digital Asset Management consists of tasks and decisions surrounding ingesting, annotating, cataloguing, storage and retrieval of digital assets, such as digital photographs, animations, videos and music. Security Deposit for the tenant

A security deposit is money that the tenant pays to the landlord at dallas tx apartment. A few weeks before you move out, walk through the apartment again with the property manager to confirm what you need to do to get your security deposit back in full. Do this as early as possible; so that you have time to make any necessary repairs yourself. Write down what damages you're responsible for and have your landlord sign off on this. Whether or not you repair them, your landlord can only deduct your security deposit to take care of these damages. Anything else that comes up is not your responsibility. And finally, you have to keep a copy of all correspondence and legal documents until you get your security deposit back.

Methods of Tattoo Removal

There are several methods of tattoo removal available today showing variable performance, result wise and procedure wise. The following are the methods of treatment for removing tattoos on your skin.
Surgical Method: It is one of the most popular methods around, especially when the dyed area is small. The major advantage here is the removal of the entire tattoo in one go, particularly if it is small tattoo. Larger tattoos, however, require multiple surgical sessions where the center of a tattoo is removed first followed by removal of sides at a later date. The surgical removal process involves an injection of a local anesthetic to numb the area after which the tattoo is removed. The edges are then brought together and sutured. With this procedure, there is minimal bleeding which is easily controlled with electrocautery. In some cases involving large tattoos, a skin graft taken from another part of the body may be necessary.
Rubbing the tattoo off: There are two ways by which a tattoo is rubbed off the skin:
  • Dermabrasion: This procedure of tattoo removal involves spraying of a portion of the tattoo with a freezing solution, after which that part is sanded with a rotary abrasive instrument causing the skin to peel. Because some bleeding is bound to occur, a dressing is immediately applied to the area.
  • Salabrasion: This is an age-old method of tattoo removal. As with the other methods, a local anesthetic is used on and around the tattooed area after which a solution of ordinary tap water dipped in table salt is applied. An abrading apparatus such as the one used with dermabrasion, or an even simpler device such as a wooden block wrapped in gauze, is used to vigorously abrade the area. When the area becomes deep red in color, a dressing is applied.
Laser: Laser tattoo removal is considered as the best of the solutions available. Though it is costly and might require multiple sessions, it ensures that tattoo removal is relatively pain free and blood free. Also the results have been quite encouraging and tattoos have been either totally removed or there were dramatic fading. More than one treatment is usually necessary to remove the entire tattoo.

General guidelines for teaching your teen drive

Last evening when I was on walk I saw a person who is a teen learning to drive a car with his friends. Suddenly accident occurred and all the friends in the car got injured. This situation happened because of the parent’s negligence towards the children in making them learn how to drive the vehicles. I wish to give some of the guidelines to the parents in making their child drive the vehicle safely. The people who attain the age of 16 is said to be a teen and will be eligible to learn driving. If you decide your child should learn driving, then you need to follow some guidelines. The first and foremost is to hire a driving instruction school to be the first people to teach your teen to drive. The major benefit is that you get a discount on your new insurance rate. Your child should be at least ten hours behind the wheel with you before they undertake their driving test. If you can't find a driving school, start in an empty, large parking lot. Then gradually move up to the road. Stipulate new responsibilities that go along with the new privilege of driving. Adhere to all the safety rules, such as importance of seat belts, speed limits, etc. while you are driving with your teen. Enforce these rules on them. Set limits like, no nighttime driving because lot of accidents happen at night. Restrict them to learn from a friend until and unless their friends have their license and driving permit. Scare them to death. The more security they feel from you, the more securely they will learn to drive with out any injuries or damages to the vehicles. These are the general guidelines for the parents in making your teen learn to drive.

Retail Configurations Of Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 is available in three standard variants the "Xbox 360 Arcade", the "Xbox 360", and the "Xbox 360 Elite". The “Xbox 360 Arcade” replaced a discontinued SKU, the “Xbox 360 Core”, in October 2007.
At launch, the Xbox 360 was available in two configurations: the "Xbox 360" package, priced at US$399, and the "Xbox 360 Core", priced at US$299. The Elite package was launched later at US$479, and the "Xbox 360 Arcade" replaced the "Xbox 360 Core" in October 2007 at US$279.
  • The Xbox 360 Core was an entry level Xbox 360 priced at US$279.99. The "Core" is no longer being sold, being replaced by the Xbox 360 Arcade. It was not originally available in Japan, but was later released on November 2, 2006. The Core system comes bundled with composite video cables, capable of only SDTV resolutions, but newer models with lot number 0728 or greater have an HDMI 1.2 output. The Core may output HD signals up to 1080p when connected to separately sold HDMI, Component, or VGA cables. It may also utilize a separately sold 20 or 120 GB hard drives.
  • The Xbox 360 Arcade, priced at US$279.99, is the replacement for the "Xbox 360 Core". It was publicly revealed (though it was available in stores far earlier) by Microsoft's president of Entertainment Devices division Robbie Bach to the Financial Times on October 18, 2007, and officially announced on October 22, 2007. It includes a wireless controller, 256 MB memory unit, composite AV cable, HDMI 1.2 output, and 5 Xbox Live Arcade titles. Holiday 2007 consoles, with packaging labeled "Go Play!” are bundled with Boom Boom Rocket, Feeding Frenzy, Luxor 2, Pac-Man Championship Edition, and Uno on a single disk, which also includes a "Welcome Video" and several game trailers/demos.
  • The Xbox 360, commonly called the Premium or Pro, priced at US$349.99, includes all the features of the Xbox 360 Core and includes a hybrid composite and component cable with optional optical out instead of a composite cable. The Xbox 360 also includes a detachable 20 GB Hard Disc Drive to store downloaded content, provide compatibility with original Xbox games, and store game data. The included hard drive comes with game demos, video clips and a free Live Arcade game, Hexic HD. In July 2007, this version of the Xbox 360 began appearing with the Zephyr motherboard (the motherboard used in the Elite) which features HDMI 1.2 output and an improved GPU heatsink. Although the Premium package does include an HDMI 1.2 output, it does not come with HDMI 1.2 cables. Starting at the end of September, the newest systems were shipped with the new "Falcon" motherboard. This motherboard includes the new 65-nm CPUs, making them quieter and cooler than the older systems. Holiday 2007 consoles, with packaging labeled "Go Pro", are bundled with Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and Forza Motorsport 2.
  • The Xbox 360 Elite is the fourth and most expensive variation of the console. It is priced at US$449.99 and includes a 120GB hard drive and a matte black finish. Enterprise Relationship Management

Enterprise relationship management or ERM is a business method in relationship management beyond customer relationship management. Enterprise Relationship Management is basically a business strategy for value creation that is not based on cost containment, but rather on the leveraging of network-enabled processes and activities to transform the relationships between the organization and all its internal and external constituencies in order to maximize current and future opportunities."

The art of relationship management is not an entirely new one. In fact, it has taken on many forms, addressing specific organizational constituencies (customers, channel partners, specialized service providers, employees, suppliers, etc). The most obvious being CRM (customer relationship management) that focuses on improving top-line growth by maximizing an organization's ability to identify sales and business opportunities with its customers. CRM's little brother PRM (partner relationship management), focuses on optimizing opportunity and downstream order management for an organization's channel partners (e.g. CISCO and its partner lead and referral management process) On the back end, we have ERP (enterprise resource planning) to manage internal operations including manufacturing, finance, HR, sales and distribution, etc. Specialized HRM (human resource management) solutions exist to manage employee benefits, collective agreements, performance reviews and so forth. And lastly, SCM (supply chain management, either as an ERP module or as a stand-alone application) to manage the product flow up and down a firm's value chain, with external partners/suppliers.

The Eviction Process of San Diego

This is only the overview of the eviction process of San Diego. This is useful for you if you are living in any San Diego apartment. If the tenant doesn't voluntarily move out after the landlord has properly given the required notice to the tenant, the landlord can evict the tenant. In order to evict the tenant, the landlord must file an unlawful detainer lawsuit in superior court.
In an eviction lawsuit, the landlord is called the "plaintiff" and the tenant is called the "defendant." An unlawful detainer lawsuit is a "summary" court procedure. This means that the court action moves forward very quickly, and that the time given the tenant to respond during the lawsuit is very short. For example, in most cases, the tenant has only five days to file a written response to the lawsuit after being served with a copy of the landlord's complaint. Normally, a judge will hear and decide the case within 20 days after the tenant files an answer. The court-administered eviction process assures the tenant of the right to a court hearing if the tenant believes that the landlord has no right to evict the tenant. The landlord must use this court process to evict the tenant; the landlord cannot use self-help measures to force the tenant to move. For example, the landlord cannot physically remove or lock out the tenant, cut off utilities such as water or electricity, remove outside windows or doors, or seize (take) the tenant's belongings in order to carry out the eviction. The landlord must use the court procedures.
If the landlord uses unlawful methods to evict a tenant, the landlord may be subject to liability for the tenant's damages, as well as penalties of up to $100 per day for the time that the landlord used the unlawful methods.

US Department Of Education Organization Act

The Department of Education Organization Act is a United States federal law enacted in 1980. Congress established the United States Department of Education (ED) on May 4, 1980, in the Department of Education Organization Act (Public Law 96-88 of October 1979). Under this law, ED's mission is to:

  • Strengthen the Federal commitment to assuring access to equal educational opportunity for every individual;
  • Supplement and complement the efforts of states, the local school systems and other instrumentalities of the states, the private sector, public and private nonprofit educational research institutions, community-based organizations, parents, and students to improve the quality of education;
  • Encourage the increased involvement of the public, parents, and students in Federal education programs;
  • Promote improvements in the quality and usefulness of education through federally supported research, evaluation, and sharing of information;
  • Improve the coordination of Federal education programs;
  • Improve the management of Federal education activities; and

Types Of Intrusion-Detection Systems

In a network-based intrusion-detection system (NIDS), the sensors are located at choke points in the network to be monitored, often in the demilitarized zone (DMZ) or at network borders. The sensor captures all network traffic and analyzes the content of individual packets for malicious traffic. In systems, PIDS and APIDS are used to monitor the transport and protocols illegal or inappropriate traffic or constructs of language (say SQL). In a host-based system, the sensor usually consists of a software agent, which monitors all activity of the host on which it is installed. Hybrids of these two systems also exist.
  • A network intrusion detection system is an independent platform, which identifies intrusions by examining network traffic and monitors multiple hosts. Network Intrusion Detection Systems gain access to network traffic by connecting to a hub, network switch configured for port mirroring, or network tap. An example of a NIDS is Snort.
  • A protocol-based intrusion detection system consists of a system or agent that would typically sit at the front end of a server, monitoring and analyzing the communication protocol between a connected device (a user/PC or system). For a web server this would typically monitor the HTTPS protocol stream and understand the HTTP protocol relative to the web server/system it is trying to protect. Where HTTPS is in use then this system would need to reside in the "shim" or interface between where HTTPS is un-encrypted and immediately prior to it entering the Web presentation layer.
  • An application protocol-based intrusion detection system consists of a system or agent that would typically sit within a group of servers, monitoring and analyzing the communication on application specific protocols. For example; in a web server with database this would monitor the SQL protocol specific to the middleware/business-login as it transacts with the database.
  • A host-based intrusion detection system consists of an agent on a host, which identifies intrusions by analyzing system calls, application logs, file-system modifications (binaries, password files, capability/acl databases) and other host activities and state. An example of a HIDS is OSSEC.
  • A hybrid intrusion detection system combines two or more approaches. Host agent data is combined with network information to form a comprehensive view of the network. An example of a Hybrid IDS is Prelude.
